An in-depth examination of the technological demands, logistical imperatives, and localized engineering environments across the Republic of Korea.
High-speed passenger arteries such as the Gyeongbu High-Speed Line, Honam High-Speed Line, and the Suseo SRT Network operate at velocities up to 305 km/h. Welding materials must exhibit zero micro-porosity, flawless homogeneous hardness across the heat-affected zone (HAZ), and unmatched ultrasonic testing compliance to eliminate rail joint shock waves and passenger discomfort.
The construction of the Great Train eXpress (GTX-A, GTX-B, GTX-C) deep-subterranean transit lines (over 40m below ground) and the continuous expansion of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway (Lines 1-9, Shinbundang Line, Incheon Subway) require ultra-compact, low-fume thermite portions. Nighttime track possessions in urban Korea typically last only 2.5 to 3 hours, mandating rapid pre-heating and single-use one-shot crucible technology.
As one of the busiest maritime transshipment hubs in the world, the Port of Busan (Busan New Port) alongside Gwangyang Port and Incheon Port utilizes massive automated container cranes (STS Quay Cranes) running on heavy-duty crane rails (QU100, QU120, A100, CR100). RMTS crane rail thermit formulations resist high wheel loads exceeding 600 kN without plastic railhead mushrooming.
Industrial rail networks feeding steelworks in Pohang and Gwangyang (POSCO) as well as Dangjin (Hyundai Steel) endure non-stop heavy axle load cycles carrying molten metal and raw iron ore. Our wear-resistant thermit portions ensure high tensile strength and prolonged fatigue cycles under high-temperature abrasive operating environments.
South Korea undergoes severe seasonal weather fluctuations—ranging from sweltering, highly humid monsoon summers (July-August) to bitter sub-zero Siberian freeze cycles (-15°C in Gangwon-do winters). RMTS vacuum-sealed, moisture-impermeable packaging prevents hydrogen embrittlement during rainy seasons, while our pre-heating calculation charts ensure stress-free welds in sub-zero winter temperatures.
With KORAIL accelerating digital track inspection via autonomous measuring trains and predictive vibration sensors, weld geometries must achieve near-perfect straightness and profile matching. RMTS precision profile rail grinders and hydraulic tensioners deliver sub-millimeter tolerances required by modern Korean digital track geometry metrics.
A relentless focus on metallurgical precision, rigorous testing protocols, and active collaboration with global railway authorities.
RMTS possesses a highly skilled R&D team that works tirelessly to ensure we produce thermit welding materials formulated specifically for each rail grade, including standard carbon rails, head-hardened rails (HH340/370), and hypereutectoid profiles used in heavy passenger and freight systems.
In addition to our strong internal R&D capabilities, RMTS actively participates in major railway projects across China and overseas. We collaborate closely with rail authorities, construction consortiums, and maintenance organizations to deliver dependable materials and field guidance.
By contributing to world-class high-speed rail, urban transit lines, and heavy-haul mining networks, RMTS verifies that our thermit consumables maintain uncompromised track integrity, minimizing rail breaks and maximizing life-cycle economy under all operating conditions.
RMTS sustains strategic partnerships with leading research institutions, universities, and welding institutes. These ongoing technical collaborations allow RMTS to continuously pioneer lower-emission ignitors, automated ignition systems, and eco-friendly crucible linings.
Configured to meet diverse operational workflows—from tight metropolitan maintenance windows to expansive new track construction.

Constructed with integrated automatic tapping thimbles and an ultra-refractory lightweight shell, the One Shot Crucible completely eliminates crucible cleaning, relining, and manual tapping errors. Ideal for nocturnal possession windows on high-density Korean lines such as the Seoul Ring Subway Line 2 or KTX turnouts, ensuring 100% consistent molten steel purity and minimal trackside clutter.

Engineered for high-volume new railway construction, depot track laying, and seaport crane rail installations where multi-weld cost efficiency is paramount. Built with heavy-duty steel housing and replaceable high-temperature ceramic refractory linings, offering an exceptional service life of 50-80 ignitions with predictable metallurgical consistency.
From high-speed passenger links to heavy-duty maritime crane tracks, RMTS welding technology delivers reliable structural joints and uncompromising track safety.

RMTS stands behind every weld with professional welder certification, rigorous storage guidelines, and step-by-step trackside procedural standards.
Ensure rail ends are cleaned down to bright metal, free of rust or oil. The welding gap is calibrated precisely to 26 ± 2 mm with appropriate rail crown peaking (1.5 - 2.0 mm) to compensate for thermal shrinkage.
Mount high-density pre-formed sand moulds with precision clamps. Seal all mould-to-rail interfaces completely with premium luting sand or sealing paste to avoid any molten steel or slag leakage.
Apply calibrated propane/oxygen or gasoline/compressed air preheating burner torches to bring rail ends to the specified forging temperature (900°C - 1000°C) ensuring uniform thermal penetration.
Place the crucible over the mould. Ignite the high-temperature portion using a sealed electric or friction ignitor. The exothermic aluminothermic reaction completes in seconds, auto-tapping pure superheated alloy steel into the joint cavity.
After precise solidification cooling timing, shear excess weld upset with a hydraulic rail shearing machine. Once cool, perform finish profile grinding to ensure perfect continuous rail running surface tolerances.
1 Weld = 1 Set Consumables (Thermit Portion + Prefabricated Sand Mould + Luting Sand Pack + High-Temperature Ignitor).
Example Calculation: For a 10 km continuous welded rail (CWR) section utilizing standard 12.5m rail lengths on double track:
Formula: (10,000m / 12.5m) × 2 rails = 1,600 consumable sets
