The Arab Republic of Egypt is currently undergoing an unprecedented infrastructure transformation under its Vision 2030 modernization blueprint. With major initiatives like the 2,000 km Electric High-Speed Rail Network connecting Ain Sokhna to Marsa Matrouh, the expansion of the Cairo LRT and Metro lines, and massive port upgrades in Alexandria and Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the demand for certified continuous welded rail (CWR) technologies has reached historical highs.
Exothermic rail welding (Aluminothermic welding) serves as the backbone of modern rail jointing. It provides a seamless, zero-maintenance joint capable of enduring high axle loads, severe ambient heat variations ranging from 5°C winter nights to 50°C summer desert heat, and relentless sand abrasion. Our CE-certified exothermic welding molds, thermit portions, and equipment are engineered specifically to meet these tough North African geotechnical conditions.
CE Certification Guarantee: RMTS thermit welding mold systems fully comply with European Standard EN 14730-1 & EN 14730-2, guaranteeing structural integrity, ultrasonic defect clearance, and fatigue resistance for high-speed passenger and heavy freight corridors in Egypt.
RMTS is a premier manufacturer specializing in railroad thermit welding materials, based in Tianjin, China. With a modern production factory spanning over 5,500+㎡ and a dedicated team of 30+ senior metallurgical and railway engineering professionals, we deliver reliable, safe, and efficient thermit welding solutions to infrastructure contractors globally and specifically across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
We understand that successful railway jointing projects in demanding environments like Egypt require far more than basic consumables. They demand deep technical expertise, stringent quality verification, and on-site engineering support. That is why RMTS offers comprehensive on-site training programs to assist Egyptian rail contractors, maintenance crews, and supervisors in mastering the aluminothermic welding process—enabling local teams to achieve optimal metallurgical results and long-term joint stability.
Driven by a strict customer-centric philosophy, RMTS is dedicated to fostering long-term strategic partnerships with Egyptian contractors such as the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT), Egyptian National Railways (ENR), and international EPC contractors operating across North Africa.
Our continuous innovation in chemical formulations, crucible design, and mold precision positions RMTS as the preferred factory direct supplier for high-demand transit lines.
RMTS houses a highly skilled metallurgical R&D team working relentlessly to ensure our thermit portion formulas match specific steel chemistry (e.g., U71Mn, R260, R350HT) used on Egyptian rail tracks.
In addition to strong laboratory R&D, RMTS actively participates in major railway projects across Asia, Europe, and Africa, collaborating closely with national railway authorities and global EPC leaders.
From high-speed passenger corridors and metro transit lines to heavy-haul mineral railways and seaport crane tracks, RMTS materials safeguard structural integrity and operational safety under heavy axle loads.
RMTS maintains long-term strategic partnerships with leading metallurgical research institutes, materials universities, and international rail welding experts to continually enhance thermal reaction stability.
Combining safety, speed, and environmental compliance for fast track laying and turn-around maintenance.

With over 20 years of manufacturing experience, RMTS provides full lifecycle support from moisture-proof storage guidance to field team certification.
Aluminothermic (thermit) welding utilizes an exothermic chemical reaction between aluminum powder and iron oxide to generate extreme heat (~2500°C), producing molten superheated steel that permanently fuses rail ends into a seamless track.
Preparation Step 1: Ensure rail ends to be welded are thoroughly cleaned, free from rust, oil, and scale. Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment. The precise gap size between rail ends shall be maintained strictly at 26±2mm.
Thermit welding materials will fail if contaminated by moisture. All portion bags, sand molds, and ignitors must be kept away from humidity during field storage and throughout the pre-heating and welding process.
Store welding packages in dry, covered warehouses elevated off concrete floors on wooden pallets. Recommended warehouse relative humidity < 60%, with sealed protective outer packaging until immediate field use.
We offer comprehensive thermit welding packages including thermit portion charges, precision sand molds, single-use crucibles, luting sand, high-temp ignitors, and specialized alignment clamps for custom rail grades.
Our senior technical instructors provide hands-on certification training directly on project sites across Cairo, Alexandria, and Upper Egypt to ensure flawless compliance with EN 14730 standards.
Thermit portion, sand mold, luting sand, and ignitor are essential consumables. 1 weld = 1 set of consumables.
Formula for a 10 km continuous project with 12.5 m rails: 10,000 / 12.5 × 2 = 1,600 sets.
